December at Bloomcore: A Festive Flourish
December was a whirlwind of activity here at Bloomcore, with the shop bustling, fresh stock arriving, and festive cheer in full bloom. It’s always a busy month, but this year felt particularly special, thanks to our incredible customers, partners, and team.
We kicked off the season with our Luxury Christmas Wreath Workshops at the stunning Swan Hotel in Southwold. These sessions were a massive hit, with participants crafting beautiful, bespoke wreaths and sharing their glowing feedback. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces, and we’re thrilled that many of the ladies are already eager to join us next year!
Closer to home, we also hosted two intimate Christmas wreath workshops in our shop. One was a private session for our lovely neighbors at Mantins Solicitors, where they created some truly gorgeous wreaths, bringing holiday joy to their workplace. We also welcomed a smaller group of wonderful ladies for another workshop, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere filled with creativity and festive fun.
In the heart of Southwold, we collaborated with Denny’s Boutique to create magical window displays, adding a festive sparkle to their storefront. Closer to home, we also had the joy of dressing some local houses for the season. This year, we brought a unique twist by incorporating hops, dried flowers, and feature blooms like hydrangeas, resulting in truly stunning arrangements.
One of the highlights of our month was our local festive get-together. Mince pies, sausage rolls, and mulled wine warmed hearts as we welcomed familiar faces to the shop. With old-fashioned music playing, we celebrated in style—especially for our beloved friend John. It was a heartwarming reminder of the wonderful community we’re lucky to be a part of.
December wasn’t without its bittersweet moments. On the 22nd, we said goodbye to Liz, a cherished member of our team. Though sad to see her go, we’re comforted by staying in touch and wish her all the best in her next chapter.
To round off the month, the Bloomcore team celebrated with a fabulous black-tie event at the Wheat Acre Lion. It was a night of delicious food, flowing drinks, and nonstop dancing—a perfect way to toast a successful year. Lizzie and I wrapped up shop duties on the morning of the 23rd before visiting our fellow small business owners along the High Street. We ended our day with a festive glass of wine at the Swan Hotel, completing our last deliveries and bidding farewell to a busy but fulfilling December.
Now, after a restful break with our families, we’re back in action and excited to reopen the shop on January 15th. We’ve been working on some fresh ideas and new additions that we can’t wait to share with you.
Thank you for being part of our Bloomcore family—your support means the world to us. We’re looking forward to another beautiful year of flowers, creativity, and community.
Lots of love,
Emma & Lizzie
